Did they confirm what the cylinder problem was? Broken or worn rings? Was the timing chain previously loose then adjusted? Whats your current mileage? Thanks mate, have been very disappointed with the dealer. Still not had the car back since it broke down, it's now had a new ECU which hasn't fixed it so a new IPDM is required! probably up to about 10 grand now i reckon!

Engine replaced then the next day the new engine stopped working, couldn't make this stuff up!

And....A new engine! Obviously the remap didn't work. One of the cylinders is causing increased oil consumption (although I've never topped it up so can't be that high) something mentioned about the level of compression in that cylinder. Picked it back up and will wait for the engine to be delivered...

And the noise returns! albeit not on the same level but i can tell it's coming back, if it is the timing chain I'd like it sorted before the warranty runs out! going back to the dealer for another cheeky remap no doubt !

It's definitely pad related as when they greased them the cracking sound went away, they've admitted in the past the pads are moving slightly in the caliper but aren't willing to replace them. I've given up getting it sorted and just learning to live with it until I decide on a new car.

Thank Jay, just come back from dealer, mine is also timing chain but a remap has sorted it (for now) apparently I need to monitor the situation for 2k to see if noise returns....

Anyone get a final fix for this? Nissan Technical are happy saying this is a 'characteristic' and not a fault!
