snow, ice and sub zero temps

I was driving home from work today when it started to snow a little. After about 5 mins the car reported the Forward Collision Avoidance System was unavailable. There was hardly any snow at all, quite disappointing for it to fail with a small snowfall. The good thing was that it cleared itself after a few miles.

I've noticed it only takes a thin layer of snow on the front of the car and it stops working

I noted this 3 years ago when I first got the car. As I see it, its not really a problem. If youre driving at a speed that would possibly need autonomous assisted braking during snowfall, then frankly you're driving too fast. The system is not fool proof, but it is good under good driving conditions.
