Connect to trailer/caravan

I also have a genuine Nissan bar with 13 pin electrics - sensors do not automatically switch off when socket used, still have to manually switch off.
Another backwards step in my opinion - Nissan have lots of technology on board but simple things like this really annoy.

I am interested in the fault with the 13 pin electrics.
I have a new version Tekna Jan 2014 and initially had a 7 pin socket fitted. We now have a caravan which has a 13 pin plug, so I had the dealer change it.
The caravan and their 13 pin plug are designed to run the fridge when the the car engine is running (during towing) and through a caravan relay disconnect all the internal electrics but charge the internal battery. This is standard to all modern caravans. My Qashqai 13 pin socket will not do this. Tested on other caravans and it doesn't work on them either. Nissan deny there is a fault and won't do anything.

Anyone else had similar problems?

What voltage have you between pin 9-13 and 10-11

Derek, it sounds like the new plug is incorrectly wired. Get back to the dealer in question and show them the problem.

Voltage across pins.

9-13 Engine Off 12.54 Volts. Engine On 14.10 Volts.
10-11 Engine Off 0.00 Volts. Engine On 0.00 Volts.

You need voltage between 10-11

Have you Anything between 10-13?

U missing The wire from The battery to 10 power (+)

And Groun( -) from The place in the back to 11.

An over a relay.
It very easy to do The self but take The car back to The dealer.

Is included in The Price you already has paid!

Checked the resistance between car body and the three earth pins on the socket pins 3-11-13 and get no resistance so the earths are all good.

There is a small box with two fuses, 15 and 20, with two wires on the battery +ve, both fuses are fine.

Maybe is The relay there is something wrong with?
Look under The site with The left door with The floor.
