A few things to consider regarding your situation. Is it only on the colder days? Is it the same when the engine is warm? Have you refuelled since the start of the problem? Have you used different fuel from a different provider? Is the car acting differently during normal driving? Prior to this prob...

The air is colder and more damp, the diesel a little thicker. It sounds quite normal to me.

I’m sure there is an anti back flow valve on the fuel line. Maybe this is sticking open letting the fuel drain back to the tank?
