Re: Hello from Norfolk UK.

Before Christmas 2020, I too came across the CVT issue while researching a 2016/17 Qashqai purchase. I telephoned a handful of gearbox specialists only to be informed of similar news to yourselves. Yes, the more frequent oil changes were recommended, but more importantly was the solution of modifyin...

Qashqai car Tomtom 2020/21 v Tomtom go 510 portable 2017

A previous post by myself about the current version of tom tom 2020-21 suggested I aint too impressed with the map layout and map lag at roundabouts and junctions including irregular moving map issues. For a laugh, I decided to set up my old tom tom go 510 portable device purchased around 2017 and r...

Re: Folding drivers side mirror

Maybe the impact has made the folding mirror drive gear jump a tooth and so is now out of sync. Perhaps you can remove the whole mirror and compare with the other side and reset it's position. Never stripped one down but if the drive cogs are plastic they will not like being shocked out of position....

Fitting stop start module on RHD Qashqai

glove box access panel.jpg As Qashqai owners, we have the beloved stop start switch fitted to our cars. Now you either love it or hate it. Yes you can carry out a single trip bypass of this switch but the next time you jump in, it will have switched itself back on. There are numerous examples of fa...

Re: Dashboard Scratches

oooohhhh, They look nasty. I bet you were gutted. Came across this video among many others on plastic repair. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q0Kx7tQvQug Cutting compound would remove the light scratched but the deeper ones need filling first i guess. I have bought that coloured T_cut before now to ...

Re: 2015 navigation screen whites look yellow

Hi, On my 2020 model you can adjust the brightness, contrast and black level in the normal settings. Not sure if it will improve things, worth a try though. If not try the hidden service menu settings which may contain an adjustment or a calibration display reset. Take pics of current menu settings ...

Re: Tom tom display question

I played around with it today and noticed that when the moving map has the icons across the bottom of the screen the map and arrow remain centralized as it should be, however, when you tap the screen to remove the icons across the bottom in order to view a full screen, the moving map does not centra...

Re: Headlights

It's a strange world is it not. Government just announced a ban on halogen bulbs sales and promotes the use of LED at home and business to save energy, but bans Led in cars meant for halogen which will increase energy and produce an inferior light source, although some may feel differently, it is a ...

Re: MPG

My new 1.3 automatic, today on a 10 mile trip around town for 3 miles hilly in places with stops and starts and the rest in a fairly good flowing 50 mph zone, with air con on, gave me 36 mpg. I get amazed by some figures people are getting, you must be getting a tow..... 68 mpg from a petrol. My mat...

Re: chrome trim

One additional step I often carry out on external strips that are subject to rain water is to seal the top edge with silicon sealant, preferably a flowable version. Check out the picture. Use a small syringe with a fine tip and SPARINGLY flow a bead of silicone into the top edge of the strip. Don't ...
