Auto dimming rear view mirror
Over the last couple of weeks my J11 Qashqai has developed an annoying problem. The rear view mirror is dimming itself during the daytime. If I turn it off or cover the sensor the mirror returns to normal. I’ve cleaned the sensor today and it’s made no difference, has anyone else experienced this? N...

Re: Paint
If you have struck through the clear coat the only option is a respray of the affected area.
If on the other hand you've just marred the paint by using an abrasive scratch remover using a more refining polish will remove the dullness.

Re: Tekna windscreen replacement.
Had the replacement windscreen fitted this morning. First impressions are positive and everything still works. Just need a cold day to check the heated screen (not long to wait I'm sure!).

Tekna windscreen replacement.
I had a stone impact my windscreen this morning and leave a small chip. Came out after work and I've now got a crack running a third of the way across the top part of the screen. Just for reference it's £907 to replace from Autoglass. I'll be using my insurance so only the excess to pay. Unfortunate...

Erroneous TPMS Tyre Fault Indication - RESOLVED
I've just had the same fault occur. Initially on the front left but then it gave us a warning for the front right as well. All tyre pressures indicated normal and on using an old fashioned calibrated pressure gauge it proved the sensors were reading correctly. I couldn't get the system to recalibrat...

SuperCar Season in London
I've just returned after a few days in London. There were lots of nice Rolls Royces, Lamborghinis and Ferraris around Covent Garden on Sunday. They weren't being noisy but they were all parked illegally, I guess a ticket isn't going to put the owners off!

We had a Pathfinder prior to buying the Qashqai and I wanted the 4x4 version initially. Unfortunately the running costs weren't sufficiently lower enough to tempt me to part with the Pathfinder. Also because they all come with summer tyres we would have had to purchase another set of tyres for the w...

We've had our Tekna for 10 months now and I don't find any issues with the ride on its 19" alloys. We also went down the winter wheels route, opting to use the 17" alloys from the model below. Fitted with Nokian tyres but with such a mild winter we didn't really get to see how well they pe...

1.2 DigT or 1.5 dci?
I can only pass comment on the 1.5DCI as that's what we own. I was sceptical initially and wanted the 1.6DCI as I was concerned there wouldn't be enough power from the 1.5. I changed my mind after taking one for an extensive test drive though. It's fair to say torque is non existent below 1500rpm bu...

Yes, you need to have your lights and number plate clearly visable. If they are obscured then a lighting board with a number plate should be fitted.
