Might be okay but probably best to go to your local specialist auto parts store rather than a chain. They will know what you are talking about. There are a few brands out therre, including TF2.

On closer inspection, the noise did come from the linkage close to the floor, so the noise/vibration must have travelled up the steering column. I put some teflon based oil, as duncho mentioned above, and the noise has gone away, at least for now.

I get this too, but sounds like it is coming from the back of the steering column rather than by the floor, although I suppose the vibration could travel up to the steering wheel area.

Well. One week on, the intelligent key issue has been resolved. However, the ABS light issue keeps coming back, but only when it is below 3 or 4 degrees. I have read in another forum that this may be due to some reprgramming that needs to be done.
