Re: Wont Start + Rac + New Battery

That’s ok, I think I will check my QQ battery earth strap now I’ve had a new battery fitted. I know from past experience that dodgy earths can cause lots of problems.

Re: Wont Start + Rac + New Battery

I’m confused now. Is the RAC man saying the fault lies with the faulty earth strap or battery or is it both?
When my battery was replaced in December I was told it was due to a faulty cell, no mention of a faulty earth.

Re: “RASA” a Hydrogen-Powered City Car

Hydrogen power is a great idea but the general public have yet to catch on, it doesn’t help when manufacturers make the cars to look like something from a 1970s space series. I have driven the Toyota Mirai which drives ok but looks horrible inside and out, I wouldn’t buy one even if the price was re...

Re: Time to say goodbye!

Up until recently I thought that the j11 was just rushed through quality control and I have often said my QQ was a “Friday afternoon car” but looking at monkeywba’s list of grief which is looking very similar to my list of woe, the problem with the j11 QQ appears to go a bit deeper. I don’t think it...

Re: Dial memory resetting to zero and needles shaking.

Hi Alister24, I’ve not had this fault personally but If you are competent with a multimeter then I would start with the obvious stuff first. With it being slow to turn over then I would check the battery connections and voltages, with the engine running and turned off. Then I would leave the engine ...

Re: Diesel cars - Govt change of direction

tophat57 said it all really, but might I add to his comments about the big push for electric vehicles. I’m intrigued to know the main reason why one would purchase an electric vehicle? If it’s because you think you are helping to save the planet then you are mistaken. As already well covered by toph...

Re: Headlight condensation

I have had this problem since I purchased the car, it is noted in the cars hand book (8-29) which states it is not a malfunction, however it also states that if large deposits of fog appear inside the head light then you should contact your dealer? The problem I had was trying to get to the dealer w...

Re: Seatbelt alarm issue

I have the opposite with the front passenger seat where the alarm doesn’t go off when the seat belt isn’t clipped in.
Not a problem to me though.

Re: £10,000 Repair Bill

Hi Davearm, If you don’t check your dipstick now and then this can happen, having said that it’s likely the oil was above the minimum mark on the dipstick, if so there is no way that missing an oil change by 5k as caused this catastrophic engine failure. Nissan know this but looking at it from their...
