Re: Clock Reset

The symptoms described by Billgo have just recently started showing up on my car. It seems as if, when initialising upon unlocking the car, the clock for the display panels sometimes does not pick up the current time information from the system clock. The time displayed is then the time elapsed sinc...

Re: Start/Stop only last 20-30sec

Mine's a 64 plate. From new the stop start behaves as you find. To prevent a premature start I've seen some posts here which suggest selecting 1st gear (without clutch) whilst the engine is stopped. But I've not tried it myself. On rare occasions I do find the engine will still be stopped when the l...

Re: Aircon hiss

I also on occasion hear the brief hissing noise on switching on the air conditioner. It also emits occasional bubbling / gurgling noises. The air from the vents becomes colder the hotter it is inside the car above the set temperature. You could take a thermometer on board and measure whether the air...

Wow  Does this mean the gas was escaping from more than one place?

Re: Installing A Dashcam

@S_J_P. Thank you for the modification guide and picture. All went well for me :P The green clips in mine seem to be of a different design. They released only when the pillar trim was pulled in the direction towards the centre vents. I also slipped the camera cable between the wiring loom and the ch...

Re: Installing A Dashcam

I've now rerouted my cable behind the strap (I.e between the A Pillar and the strap near the top of the trim panel) so it won't impede the airbag operation. The rest of the routing remains as before. I have my cable routed as per the S_J_P pictures in this thread. I would appreciate some more infor...

Re: Buzzing noise - Fuel pump I have been told?

Hardly quieter; just a slightly lower tone. To momentarily stall the engine, set off without pressure on the accelerator pedal so that the revs dip below 1000.

Re: Buzzing noise - Fuel pump I have been told?

The first time I noticed this was when I returned home. I thought my neighbour was using his mower! Service told me the noise is normal. I've found that it can be changed to a slightly lower tone by momentarily almost stalling the engine. I'm living with it but would prefer a quieter pump. My previo...

Re: Scarey sensors.

Dave, Thanks for owning up. It does seem to be an effective prank. My mind can be miles away and on automatic when waiting at lights. Looking back I can see the funny side. I have to admire the enginuity of weaving new technology into an old human trait. Whatever next?

Scarey sensors.

As the traffic lights had changed in my favour, I selected first gear, ready for the off. Just as I did so there was suddenly a continuous beep comming from the rear of the cabin. The next things I became aware of were red warnings on the instrument panel. Trying not to panic, it took a few moments ...
