I doesn't seem like the usual 1.2 problem, which definitely involves a rattle and excessive oil usage.

EDIT - sorry - just noticed you have a J12 not a J11 - may be significant, may not.

It needs someone who's familiar with both versions to advise but it's possible they're the same.
