Re: Problem with DAB radio

I recently watched a youtube video on DAB & DAB+ .. the UK DAB uses MP2 audio codec (CD's, you know, those shiny disks), DAB+ uses the HE-AAC v2 audio codec (MP4). Well, with the better codec DAB+ was meant to offer better sound quality, but instead, all the broadcasters did, was offer more channels...

Re: Qashqai 1.6 DCI coolant level

And that's why the tank is called an expansion chamber in old money.

Without trying to be condescending.....

The coolant runs around the engine at 90 to 110 degrees Celsius.
The coolant expands when it’s hot, therefore the level of fluid rises up the wall of the reservoir.

Re: Exhaust fumes coming into interior

It's not a co2 detector you need. It's a carbon monoxide monitor Carbon monoxide is more attractive to your red blood cells than oxygen, so it's very difficult to to remove from the blood. Co2 will make you breathless and dizzy but soon as you get oxygen you recover. This is why carbon monoxide is s...

Re: Injector programming - 2012 1.5 dCi

You're probably reading the injector setting in the ECU of the car, not the injector. But hey, I could be wrong.

Re: Exhaust fumes coming into interior

You can get the smell when stationary and the wind is blowing from behind, but head aches are from carbon monoxide and its a killer. You could put a household carbon monoxide tester in The car to see if it alerts

Re: Sat nav

My house is 1.5 years old and it's still not not on Google Maps, although it is on bing maps and open street maps. If I remember correctly, the mapping/satnav companies use data supplied by Ordinance Survey. Ordinance Survey aren’t constantly "on the road" updating their data and so mapping data mem...

Re: Injector programming - 2012 1.5 dCi

There is no way the injector has a microprocessor. This link will give you an idea of what is expected. https://shop.advanceautoparts.com/r/car-projects/how-to-replace-fuel-injectors Yes I believe the hexadecimal code ii assigned to the ecu and it will need copying to the injector which will require...

Re: TPMS not correct after wheels swapped around

You can force a reset of the tpms in your car's settings. Your manual should show you how to do this. After swapping wheels around, section 7-5 of manual states the procedure for getting tpms position recognition. Ignition on for 20+ mins then drive between 16 and 60mph and it should automatically d...

Re: Beeping outside the car

Is the engine or ignition off/on? I'm assuming you have keyless entry. Started with a mystery beeping, the same issue as described by Squierrel. There are no warning lights. Key battery has been replaced. nothing... The sound is the same as if I push the lock button on my key while sat inside... (wh...

Re: Front Brake Pads - Sensors?

I would advise replacing the rotors and the pads, not just the pads. In the old days the pads would wear out a lot faster than the rotors. These days the pads contain a lot abrasive compounds that wear the rotors a lot more. Also, as the rotors will have a lot of gouges, groves in them there will be...
