Lidl dont make nuts of course, but the point is that any fastener to be used in certain applications needs to be of a certain standard/strength. A general purpose DIY nut is not likely to conform. The nut Nissan have supplied is a lock nut, it has a flange on the top that performs this function. Not...

Its not that Im not happy with it, but as the part number differed from what I was told and Nissan had no real grasp of what the bolt was for, I was cautious about using it.

That's what I thought but Nissan told me otherwise.

The other bolt on the other side has 10 on it also, so at least that matches. I'll fit them, but was no left with the feeling that any Nissan dealers knew what I wanted or what the part did.

The 'wrong' bolt was put on by the garage, but I didn't know that. I'm sure its fine, but now I've come to do the control arm again after less than 12k miles, I want it done correctly. Indeed, I got the bolts from Nissan. Dealers are not immune to supplying the wrong parts though and as the task of even getting them to understand the parts I wanted seemed to be beyond their scope initially, I was sceptical seeing as none of the part numbers matched the the information I was given....
