Re: Crack on inside of panoramic sunroof

I had to have mine replaced. Was quoted around £800 by a windscreen replacement place. I ended up going through the insurance and paying my excess, think it goes through as accidental damage. If you’ve got protected no claims, it might be worth going that way.

Re: Fly shit on car

Autoglym Active Insect Remover - shake well, spray on, leave it for 30 seconds (you can actually here it fizz as it dissolves the bugs), wipe off with a micro fibre cloth. First step of cleaning for me in this weather. Can use it on glass, but wipe it off really well as it could smear.

Re: Fitting mats

The drivers side has clips, which the mat just pushes onto and clicks into place. Passenger side has no clips, but the mat doesn’t seem to move about - unless my passengers are light footed 😂

Re: Installing A Dashcam

I see from the fuse box diagram there’s a 15A fuse for heated seat. My car doesn’t have heated seats, so could I just plug the hardware kit straight into there? I assume it’s a switched feed? My hardware kit has a fuse fitted at the end (Pruveeo make from Amazon), and I hoped this would be an easy o...

Re: Autoglym Shampoo & Conditioner

If you don't mind putting a bit of effort in, and want your QQ to look good, and be easy clean for a good while, get some wax on there. I did mine with Soft99 Fusso Coat, which they say has a 12 month coating. Car was washed, clay barred (Bilt Hamber), polished (Bilt Hamber Cleanser Polish - by hand...

Re: Cleaning bumpers / engine bay

Powermaxed TFR is very good, and decent price from Euro Car Parts. Diluted down and sprayed over whole car before rinsing gets rid of a lot of grime, bird mess etc.

Re: Cleaning bumpers / engine bay

Try Autofiness Revive for the black plastic. Apply a bit with a sponge (I buy a pack of scouring pads from the supermarket, and cut them into pieces). You work it into the plastic, and it will keep it looking good for ages. For engine bay, I use a Tesco (other brands available 😉) All Purpose Cleaner...

Re: Project: Reversing / Disabling Stop/Start feature

I use it if I'm going to be sitting for a while, but in most situations I just keep the clutch depressed with the car in first. No hesitation for pulling away, no extra stress on the engine, and balances the fuel / emissions argument. I would have thought a car oushes out more emissions when surging...

Looks like the air intake for the turbo - just googled the part number stamped on there. There might be some on EBay, or try your local dealer.

Re: Starting car when in gear

Do you press the clutch in when starting? My Insignia required that, as does this QQ (button start), whether it's in gear or nuetral.
