Disconnect the battery. They are stored for months from manufacturer to fitting, so 2 months shouldn't make much difference.
Just make sure it's as fully charged as possible.

Do the lot. A new belt will put more stress on the water pump. Not worth the risk for the cost of a pump while it's exposed, if it goes after costs nearly as much again.

Yes you can see the wires and yes, they do seem to refract the light especially at night.
Only solution, get a non heated windscreen fitted.

If it happens when braking,it could be worn suspension parts. ie ball joints, wishbone bushes.
