Re: Automatic Wipers always on

Am sure OBD tools can't do that. Perhaps a Nissan CONSULT tool might? The latter being at a Nissan dealer. However, the Body Control Module (BCM) and Light & Rain Sensor (LR) together play a part here. An AUTO selection should give one wipe when no rain present. And Stop AUTO should stop either by d...

Re: Forward Emergency Braking system warning light

That shows FEB switched OFF certainly and either by the system or the driver. The system faults (errors) are many and about 25 (see below). Diagnosing the problem requires Nissans Consult tool. The radar sensor at the front of the car could be defective or dirty...maybe something to check first. Its...

Re: Heating system

From the aircon/heater unit diagram there would appear to be a failure of the Air Mix door(s)...somehow. There are two such doors. 1 for pax side and 1 for Driver side. Both are electrically driven from the Auto Amp module. Its a bit of a complicated air mix system. Perhaps someone else knows more? ...

Re: Audio system cutting out 2014 reg

I know it’s a very late reply, but there’s been some progress....I had the diagnostics done at the dealer at a price of £109 and they did the update ‘free of charge’. I questioned the diagnostics fee with Nissan Customer Services and argued the fact why I shouldn’t have to pay and I’d like it refun...

Re: Autos Stop/Start error

Its difficult to diagnose at distance. EML is really an alarm from the ECU meaning that some function the ECU uses/senses has failed out of parameters usually.

It requires that the error codes (DTCs) are viewed for examination.

Thanks for the info and interest. Here in UK is mainly a throw away society. Long gone are the days of self repairs like your experience.

Re: Heated front windscreen not working

From diagnostics there are two relays that are fed by F67 (10A). If F67 was faulty the front defogger on both sides would fail. There are two screen heater element 40A fuses for each side element via the relays but they are not numbered with an F prefix, simply P and Q and location not shown. The tw...

Re: Engine cuts out when indicating left

At a wide-ish guess I'd look at a particular unit first...it would be Body Control Module (BCM). Why: Its the first port of call for investigation of controls such as lighting various (e.g turn signal) and the power consumption control interface. Plus many others. Diagnosis in any case would require...

Re: Faults on new purchase

I seem to remember a common 1 month after purchase period to get the car:

changed
fixed
returned for money back

Check the UK Consumer Law website

Re: Faults on new purchase

A Battery capacity test by any garage or RAC etc would be very useful in determining the performance of same. After that and if ok...it looks like fairly common diesel problems? Error codes (DTCs) will need examining anyway which some garages could do.
