Interestingly, I am also on the Mercedes Benz forum and the UK spec for Mercedes has also been drastically reduced, much to the anger of members who are looking to buy a new car. So I guess it's not just Nissan.

The problem is not the dashboard, it's the reflection in the windscreen. As far as I know, the only way to stop this is with an anti reflective coating on the screen. Because of the system, I never run at night with auto lights, it is the first car I have had where you cannot override the main beam with just a push of the stalk. I have had cars with auto lights before, but the main beam was a manual operation. Personally, I hate this system.
