Re: Wattway - Solar roads in France

Add a peizo-electric layer into that and those heavy trucks could also do some good as they thunder through the small villages in France!

Re: Stop/Start system

gmv, yes aware of that - as I said I don't find the system intrusive in the slightest. I just ignore it (sometimes it surprises me when it triggers!) To me it's a background process, if it never triggered again I probably wouldn't even notice, or care. When it does trigger I hardly notice anyway.

Re: Stop/Start system

Totally agree, it's difficult to predict when it will cut in (or out!). To be honest, these days I just ignore it - after all it doesn't need any input from me anyway, can't see it saves any significant fuel/co2. If there was a setting in the car to turn it off I probably would be again it doesn't b...

Re: Folding Mirrors

With my Tekna, they close when I lock the car, open when I unlock the car (not when I turn the ignition on/off - press the button actually)
It's how I check I've remembered to lock the car when I'm walking away from it ;)

Re: steering squeak when its cold

Sorry - it's on back order. It might be about 3 months before you get a delivery... and even then it might be in short supply. More stock available in June apparently. Seriously, apart from an irritating noise (and any associated "rubbing" wear), is this a real problem (as in; will this ca...

Re: VW Emission tests

...and whatever happens the car you're driving will stay the same as it is now (apart from a bit of a re-alignment in depreciation but if that happens across the board then we're all in the same boat).
