What am i doing wrong. Locking car

Thanks Firestarter, that certainly would make everything easier. Just seems strange (to the uninitiated) to have the buttons on the fob if it's best to avoid using them!

New Qashqai arrived today

Thanks for the tip Monty, if Mrs Hound is unable to twist the dealer's arm at delivery time I will be in touch with Vospers double-quick!

What am i doing wrong. Locking car

I had the same thing with the QQ I test drove, although it locked fine once I got back to the dealer's. I don't yet have my car but I expect Mak's suggestion of leaving it a few seconds before pushing the button is the solution. Also perhaps standing a little further away from the car could be helpf...

Switching from Xtrail to QQ

Was that the Audi A3? I looked at that, specs were fab on paper but the car itself looked disappointing. Just a Seat in a party frock. Also on my list were the Volvo V40 Cross Country and CitroA«n Picasso, but the QQ just felt right. -- Yes you're correct, people who can use manual get much better d...

Lucky you - congrats! I hope I manage to get velour mats at that price when I eventually get my QQ, you did well there...

Switching from Xtrail to QQ

Welcome! I am waiting for a firm delivery date for my QQ. Also disabled and the 1.6dCi Xtronic N-tec+ in Gun Metallic will be my first Motability car. In the auto options they only offer the 1.2 in Tekna spec (how I wish I could have had the 1.5dCi manual Tekna) and although I was impressed with the...

a noise while cornering and sometimes breaking

I hope nothing is actually breaking! Could be the chassis control as you suggest; could be a brake pad dragging slightly. ABS can make weird noises but I assume you're not braking fiercely enough for that. When it comes to brakes, peace of mind is important - would your dealer take a look? Or a tyre...

Auto Door Locking Failed

Well, during the test drive I parked, switched the engine/ignition off with the Start button, got out of the car and tried several times to lock it with the button on the I-key; like Omega's, it refused to lock. Drove it back to the dealer, and it worked fine when I got out there. Hopefully mine won...

Auto Door Locking Failed

This happened to me on the car I took for a test drive! I stood a bit further away from the car the next time and all worked as it should, but I never found out whether proximity was an issue.

Door Mirror

You could always vinyl wrap the mirrors rather than paint them. That way, if you decide it was a bad colour choice, the wrap is easier to remove to restore your mirrors to their former glory.
