Re: Hill Start Assist
Tried it on my way home, didn't seem to happen where I thought it would and couldn't find any suitable slopes. Ironically, when I got home my driveway is sloping but of course every time I've ever turned the car on on the drive, the parking brake has been applied. Put my foot on the brake and turned...

Re: Hill Start Assist
Is Hill Start Assist a standard feature? Looking at the spec pdf it was standard in the Visia and therefore in all models. Mine is a 2014 N-tec+. It has lane drift, TSR, front avoidance, etc, all confirmed present and working. But I have yet to find out if I have hill start assist. I did come to a s...

Re: windscreen scratch removal
Got some cerium oxide solution from Amazon, and the scratches are now gone. It says it won't remove scratches you can feel with your fingernail but it will get rid of surface scratches - and it did. I used my electric sander with a big thick polishing pad and just pressed hard against the glass and ...

Re: Radio Code
Can anyone confirm if it's true that J11s with the Connect 3 system don't need a radio code if disconnected from the battery? I didn't get a code with mine and when I asked Nissan for one he said if its got a sat nav it doesn't need one.
My J10 with sat nav certainly did though.

Re: windscreen scratch removal
I had a new screen fitted that had a small scratch in it. The screen company buffed it out with jewelers rouge to remove it but it created a lens effect that distorted the view of road signs. In the end I got them to replace the screen again. Was it a scratch that could be felt with a fingernail? I...

Re: windscreen scratch removal
Are you sure it's a scratch and not a part of your heated windshield? I haven't got a heated windshield, and its a definite arc in the same path as the wiper. I've read cerium oxide solution and a lot of buffing (probably requiring an electric tool) will do the job nicely. Lots of reviews and video...

windscreen scratch removal
I have noticed a hairline scratch on my windscreen in an arc, obviously caused by a wiper blade. It is just above my eyeline and I don't see it when driving and focusing ahead anyway, but now I know it's there.... quite annoying on sunny days if it catches it right, although then I've lowered the vi...

Re: testing aircon in cool weather
It was around that I'm sure, as it was painfully icy to hold my hand in front for anything but a few seconds. But when it's cold outside, your AC only has to cool the incoming air a few degrees to get it down to that and even a knackered, low gas AC system could probably manage that, which is why I ...

testing aircon in cool weather
Bought my 2.5 year old J11 a couple of weeks ago, and with all the air con problems reported on here I was wondering if it's possible to test it in cool dry weather? I just had a 10 min drive with it turned it down to LO and it was blasting icy air at me, but it's only 12C outside. At the end of the...
