Re: Emergency braking system fault

With regards to the 777 max I do wonder if the designer thought of everything except the human interaction element. Us humans have a history of being unpredictable yes they do write algorithms that predict human behaviour and they are good MOST of the time. If I’m on a 777 max most of the time isn’...

Re: Emergency braking system fault

Thoughts: An earlier debate moved to a place where Boeing and Airbus aircraft had significant control differences. Its where events lead to areas that only humans can reliably act or are able to act out of safe place. The aircraft has to be operated out of its safe operating parameters or performanc...

Re: Emergency braking system fault

I think a prescribed area is "viewed" and conditioned in terms of doppler shift and object proximity. Whats moving in relation to the car and whats near enough to physically contact...all within prescribed parameters. The car with sensors is moving also. Parameters are fixed/acquired withi...

Re: Emergency braking system fault

Nissan have/had radar problems below. But the false/useless alarms arise from both the sensors and the electronics/software IMO. I doubt they can get these systems to behave correctly on all events. Decisions, decisions, decisions which no doubt kicks them off toward Artificial Intelligence....whate...

Re: Automatic Handbrake Systems

Hi All, I have a 67 plate 1.5 NConnecta and have had it from 3 months old. Ive done 26600 plus miles, still with origonal tyres although front now on 3mm. My issue is that at it's 2nd service last week the front Brake Pads were at 8mm and the rears are down to 5mm. Anyone know why the rear pads hav...

Re: Red engine light coming?

Thanks calnorth, so do you think cleaning the PDF will sort the problem? Please advice In the case of not fully knowing the history of the car check the items that cause this type of problem sequentially. For me its from what I can easily get at first...unless the faulty item is obvious. Suggestion...

Re: Tesla Rolls Out Smart (phone) Summon Feature

Another piece with vids: (crazy stuff) "The Smart Summon feature was meant to be a surprise tucked away in Telsa's latest software Version 10.0 , which was released last week". Carnigie Mellon Uni (USA): Specialists in Software System Safety...largely military systems. Producer of software...

Re: Nissan Drastic Worldwide Job Cuts

Danish proverb: “It is difficult to make predictions, especially about the future.” As if we didn't know that, but many don't recognise it. The female Sunderland (Nissan area) Lab MP did put a question up last week in Parliament about cars leaving UK now and the ship turning up elsewhere 60 days lat...

Re: Red engine light coming?

There should be a DTC error code if ECU light comes on. Suspicion falls around DPF and/or O2 sensors anyway, the latter raising a error flag. How old are the sensors...mileage is limited to typically 60k. I'm not a diesel owner but I seem to remember the DPF has O2 sensors either side of it...so tha...
