Re: Service today on 3 yr.old QQ.
I see others have already touched on possible issues, including internal corrosion which if it caused problems with the ABS unit would be less than cheap....not suggesting going a year or two past recommended interval will automatically mean some sort of catastrophe but from changing bike brake fluid...

Re: Recall notice today
Got the recall letter about 10 days to a fortnight ago, can't quite remember when, they will likely be done in batches particularly if it's a high volume recall I'd guess. The recall for the "1.6" almost certainly relates to the petrol version, which is probably why those with the diesel hav...

Similar story here, " ex Nissan " car which turned out to be ex Hertz, with the identical missing aerial issue. Try checking in the spare wheel well, you might well find the aerial there, that's where mines was hiding albeit I only found it a few weeks later by which time the dealer had supp...

Re: 1.6 diesel tappity sound
You're correct that red diesel isn't an inferior product but its efficacy is compromised by the dye, which in turn is emphasised by the much finer tolerances and higher pressures of today's systems relative to the old mechanical pumps of yore. Re: 1.6 diesel tappity sound
@ stuiow Ahh, didn't make the island connection from your username initially so didn't realise you'd be a little more constrained in your choice of suppliers. I see a Esso station has been listed though. @gvmdaddy I'm sure you speak from your experience and have had no issues with supermarket fuel, ...

Re: 1.6 diesel tappity sound
Not an attempt to slate Morrisons or anything but it was a tank of their diesel that gave the rough running I mentioned ( it was a needs must purchase as they were closest at the time,I normally use BP or Shell ) I know of others who had dpf issues that cleared once they moved to branded fuel, I'd r...

Re: 1.6 diesel tappity sound
Possibly the fuel injection system changing the injector timings or phasing in response to change in engine load ? It can give rise to a bit of " diesel rattle " at times. From what I've read one of the few minor issues with the 1.6 is that it has to do without the acoustic engine cover du...
