Re: Rain Sensor
I had a new windscreen fitted a few weeks ago by a non Nissan company, and thereafter the rain sensor obviously was not OK, either no response or frantic high speed wiping for no reason. The company admitted they hadn't changed the gel pad which locates the sensor. With a new gel pad, it seems like ...

Re: JJ10 +2 diesel servicing
Ger, I know the feeling, little info available re. 1.6 dCi maintenance for us who do it ourselves. 400 euros seems steep for an oil and filter change. I paid 175 euros for that last week, but not at a Nissan place, but yes I checked they used the right oil, which is crucial for dpf survival. Here th...

Re: Qashqais feel the cold.
These freebies have not been offered yet here, despite the coolish name of our country. :( Our journey to the "summer house" at the weekend could have been more comfortable, as the heater stuck on "recirc" despite all my efforts to take in air. It was about -7c which meant with t...

Re: Foglight bulb replacement
Daewar, I agree, ill thought out! On my J10 facelift, with the relevant wheel off, and on a jack stand for safety, I removed two philips' screws under the light, and by easing the plastic wing trim off slightly, the wheel arch liner can be bent down and tied so you can get a hand in. Tight, but doab...

Re: wrong fuel
Having found a way past the anti-syphoning gubbins, will you not also have to find a way to remove only the surface of the fuel, which is where the petrol lies? The professionals disconnect the fuel line at the filter under the bonnet, then switch on the ignition to allow the low pressure fuel pump ...

Re: wrong fuel
My condolences, doQQgood, I did exactly the same in May this year, realised my error after nearly three liters, brimmed the tank with diesel, and didn't let it go below half full for the next five months, probably about 6000 miles, many bumpy, and reckon to have escaped. The experts seem to reckon u...

1.6 dci Water in fuel filter
Having recently bought a fuel filter as a precautionary measure, and having read in the owner's manual the chilling words, Fuel Filter, Draining Water: "For models with R9M engine, contact a NISSAN dealer or qualified workshop.", I was pleasantly surprised to find the following printed on ...

Re: Stop Start in slow moving traffic
FWIW, the stop/start on the 1.6dci is designed to do 410.000 stop/starts according to Renault, so perhaps safe to assume a certain amount of longevity with most engines.

Re: First thoughts 1.6 dci QQ SE
Your guess was right Dave, I went by the date of registration here, 2014, so it is probably from the last batch of J10 QQs produced. Now to move myself off the heady J11 site!

Re: First thoughts 1.6 dci QQ SE
Thank you, the handbook mentions an "aux socket for a jack, e.g. MP3 player" but in fact there is a USB socket which I doubt I will ever use, as I am a retired orchestral musician and prefer silence, and yes, the QQ is quiet. Bluetooth I have, rainsensor and 4WD. The QQ SE was sold here in...
