I think you've got up to 6 months to reject a vehicle after a major fault is discovered (not just 30 days). Everything you do has to be done in writing, not verbally. Mostly i agree with you but nitrous oxide (laughing gas) and nitrogen dioxide are not the same thing.

One is N2O and the other is NO2 (2 nitrogens to an oxygen vs 1 Nitrogen to 2 oxygens).

To put it into context our dealer has a 14 plate 1.2 QQ Acenta with S/V pack up at just under £15K (done 9K miles). The dealer couldn't find any leaks (not surprising).
DashCam in the car does give interesting insights into the world of mechanics.
