Re: Starting Engine

Yes, as Hound has said, and I suspect this is why it tells you to press the clutch. Better safe than sorry.

19000 miles and 4.2kg. As you can see we don't do a lot of town driving.

Re: steering squeak when its cold

There are two known issues. The most common is the front suspension upper strut mount - I know it seems unlikely that this is caused by turning the steering but it is correct and verified by my dealer. Only happens in cold weather and no fix from Nissan for this as yet. The dealer has lubricated the...

Re: remapping

If your car had a factory fitted DPF and it is noted that this is no longer fitted at the MOT it is an automatic fail. I believe most cars that pass the MOT without their original DPF do so because it is not easy to pick up on the test from an external inspection. It certainly invalidates you insura...

More torque and improved fuel economy.

If i had a Qashqai that was out of warranty, i'd be taking it to somewhere like Avon Tuning to have a DPF removal and remap.
Why? It will still be a Qashqai and not a GTI R type RS something or other.

Re: remapping

I think the bottom line is no, don't do it. If you want a faster car then it is better to go out and buy one. As said it would invalidate the warranty and substantially increase your insurance premium. When all is said and done it is a family car and best left as such.

Re: VW Emission tests

Quite possibly. I have been waiting to see who would be first of the rest to be caught up in the aftermath of the VW scandal. If anything is found at Renault it seems likely Nissan would also become involved. However, it's important to remember that nothing has been alleged against either company le...

Re: DAB RADIO stuck on ONE channel

The latest update is D302 which should fix this ok. Ours would not hold the DAB station and kept trying to re-tune but has been fine since this update a couple of months back.

Re: WhatCar - Car of the Year 2015

I agree with Jonceebee, even though we are still waiting for a Nissan fix regarding the upper front suspension mounts making a noise in cold weather. It has been 10 months and nothing yet. However, the dealer keeps them greased and it seems fine most of the time. Other than this I can't fault the ca...

Re: Turn off seat belt chime?

Thanks guys - You live and learn. Just shows what a good boy I am with my seat belt as it has never activated in 19 months. I will have to try it now!
