You just have to pull/push power plug into cig lighter socket, and turns itself on automatically as that lighter socket (unlike other one) is permanently live.I just leave in slightly pulled out when parked up.

As the cabling's black, I just thread around an air freshener plugged into one of vents, down into socket;keep cable excess wound up in ashtray. If I was that concerned I suppose you could route behind front of dashboard and back around, or hard wire into glove box area as others have mentioned? Gel...
