Re: FIRMWARE VERSION

At last - D605 now lets you press the forward/back key on the steering wheel to cycle through your 6 DAB presets, rather than through the whole DAB list alphabetically! Been waiting for that one for years. I thought this would just be the bug fix for the reboot issues, so it's nice to see new featur...

Re: SD Navigation updated card

My v4 card arrived last night from ebay. Was a bit dubious at first at £18.50, but it appears to be genuine. Put it in a PC and compared with v3. v3 had map data Q1 2017, v4 has map data Q1 2018. But it seems to be a big one - I remember going from v2 to v3 and not much changed, but now on v4 all th...

Re: 1.2 DIG-T - Oil loss

To add to all the confusion - I got the timing chain rattle which ultimately led to engine replacement, but I never experienced any oil loss, and I checked regularly due to all the issues reported on here. So even without oil loss in terms of the main sump that is checked via the dipstick, the timin...

Re: FIRMWARE VERSION

I downloaded the D605 file ages ago but never did it because the problem had seemed to go away. However, it had rebooted a couple of times last weekend so I thought I'd give it a go this morning.

All updated fine, about 55 mins.

Re: 1.2 timing chain slipped???

Could it perhaps have been the known issue with 1.2 engines where a faulty piston installed in chamber 3 was causing the timing chain bit of the engine to be starved of oil, causing rattles. A lot of us had our engines replaced due to this.

Re: Audio system cutting out 2014 reg

I paid my dealer(Evans Halshaw Sunderland) a visit today to discuss the issue of the radio cutting out and the connect system re-booting itself. It requires a firmware update, but as it's out of warranty it will cost me £75. Going to give Nissan CS a call. Not sure if you've had it done yet, but it...

Re: TB EM 15/05 - 1.2 Petrol DIG-T Engine Oil Loss

Interesting.

Makes me wonder about the replacement engines loads of us already had, whether these are also at risk.

How would i check that, the Vin chassis number refers to my car, not the engine, so how can i check if the new engine is in the range?

Re: 1.2 DIG-T - Oil loss

Working through the flowchart posted a few pages back it looks like they've done it by the book, and that engine replacement is the recourse when the compression test values are wildly out of alignment. In cases like mine the timing chain is the end of the flow. It is strange that a timing chain ne...

Re: 1.2 DIG-T - Oil loss

Update: My rattle has been diagnosed as the timing chain (was pretty confident of that already). Nissan have agreed to pay for the replacement, as I rather suspect they know the problem is theirs and want it to go away. I guess I'm going to need to be very vigilant with oil levels for the rest of t...
