I should explain that we only have the QQ because it's on Motability, my wife is disabled and when we got together she had a Motability car but had stopped being able to drive herself, so the Megane got parked up and barely used in the last couple of years.

These rails are for the older J10 Qashqai, so I'd doubt very much if they'd fit your J11.

I seldom use the "hole" to close the tailgate. And I'm right handed. I imagine left handed folk use it even less. It's no problem to shut the tailgate by applying fingers to the bottom lip of the tailgate itself surely?
