If it was bought from a dealer, it should have a warranty and they should sort this out for you.
New keys are expensive.

If you bought private, get some top quality (Duracell professional, etc.) and see if that resolves the issue

Is the car a 1.5 e-power or 1.3 “mild hybrid” ?
My 1.3 is quite quiet and the relevant buttons, etc. illuminate when the lights turn on.

If it’s a 1.3 then, as stated before, this is a different gearbox to that used in the pre-2018 Qashqai.
If it’s an e-power it doesn’t have a gearbox.
