Better ask your passengers to take a bit more care I reckon...they need to improve their aim.

There isn't a way to locate the key. But some unscrupulous scrote would find it to steal your car.

It'll turn up...keep looking...including in the trouser pocket...you know the ones in the washing machine...done that with my phone!

Spray some fly killer in the car if you can't see one just in case. See if that fixes it.

I wouldn't expect anything to be on unless the vehicle is 'switched on' in some way

Suggest when you are sitting in the car in a 'lot' you turn switch the car on in case you need to activate the horn.

I've never had a car in which the horn worked unless the car was in ignition on or accessory mode.

No idea what sleep mode is

Most items aren't powered up unless 'ignition on' type mode or accessory mode.

I wouldn't expect horn to work when the car isn't on or 'asleep'
