A little trick I use occasionally to identify a wire without cutting it is to stick a small pin or sewing needle through the insulation and connect to that as a test, it causes only minimal damage to the insulation. Yes thought of that, but was hoping someone knew which was which. If all else fails...

I too do not have the connector block in the fuse area.
Any chance of a pic of the connection area and the wire route you took please.
