Hello,
Has anyone upgraded their qashqai j10's lights to LED lights?
I don't know which one are compatible and what is the max power I can go for each bulb type.
I don't want to buy cheap stuff, believe in investing good products even if its on the expensive end.
Look forward to hear your suggestions.
Thanks
Full LED upgrade
If by power you mean amp draw - then its not relevant as LED dont draw like an incandecent bulb does.
Numbers to look out for are:
Lumens = how bright
Colour temperature - approx 6500 is white

Welcome to this forum.
Keep the old bulbs - you might get an MoT faliure using LEDs.
Personally I'd stick with high-performance halogens - that's what the headlights were designed for.

Hi quai2011,
I’ve got a 2008 J10 and looked into it and it’s not worth it.
I started by doing a bit at a time. Firstly the interior lights. They are ok. I recommend Auxito. These take the standard wedge type 5w T10 but obviously led version and light up the interior nicely. Got a pack of 10 on eBay for £5. Then stop!
After hours of research, I can simply put led auto lighting into 3 stages. Firstly and obviously the fitting as in H7, H11etc then the colour. This is measured in K. For example to get a white, daylight type light I went for 6000K. Lower K goes into amber like halogen around 3000K. Higher K you are into HID colours like blue. Then there is the brightness. This is measured in lumens. Don’t go on wattage as led is a totally different thing when it comes to watts.
Anyway after learning all the above, I found it impossible anywhere on the internet to purchase a full set of 100% road legal, non dazzle and all in the same colour bulbs. I’ve had to throw away a set of indicator bulbs as they were dazzling the drivers behind me! Even buying the same K colour bulbs didn’t work as these varied in colour depending on heat dissipation. The list goes on.
I settled for 4 x h7 halogen in colour 6000k, the t10 led sidelight in 6000k and the orange coloured py21w filament standard bulbs in the front which looks ok. Didn’t even bother with the rear.
So save yourself a lot of time and money by leaving the LED setup to the later QQ’s.
