Hi guys

I recently replaced the brake disc and pads on the J10.

Shortly after I’ve found that when I turn left, the drivers side wheel has a high pitch noise coming from it. Does not happen when going straight or right.

Today I took the wheel off and checked the the pads etc and the pads aren’t sticking and the wear indicator isn’t touching anything nor are the metal clips that pads sit in.

My suspicion is the rusty shield on that hub. I did bend it back a bit today but it made no difference. Any advice appreciated

I suspect that whoever changed the brake pads might’ve skipped a step in cleaning such as
- de oil brake disks
- de rust mating surfaces
- apply copper grease film at the back of the pads.
- grease slider pins
However it might be something touching the disk, or simply bad quality pads…
Many years ago we used to have squeak sometimes when placing new pads for some miles…but that shouldn’t be the case nowadays…
