Qashqai Model: Mk.3 Qashqai - J12 (2021+) New Model

Hi guys ,

I'm thinking to buy Nissan qashqai 2008 diesel , but i dont know which diesel engine should i go , 2.0 dCi or 1.5 dCi ? Seems that by Google research 2.0 is more powerful and fuel consumption is higher too . So anyone who had this model or still using it give me a short review how it's like to own this car ? πŸ™‚

The major advantage with the 2.0 one is that it has a cam chain - replaceable at 175,000 miles or so - whereas the 1.5 has a cambelt - replaceable at 5 years/60k or 75k or 90k miles.

The 1.5 may be less car tax though

Hi ,

Thank you for your answer, I like 2.0 diesel more but i don't know about real fuel consumption. If you had this car, any of engines 1.5 or 2.0 , i just need a engine review , like stability or fuel consumption .

Thanks

We have just bought a J10 Qashqai with the 1.5 dCi and even though it's 115 bhp engine I find it a little gutless, has no low down torque and needs working hard in the gears but on the plus side I got 53 mpg on mixed driving.

Yeah i agree with you that 1.5 dCi is not a performance engine for this car, but fuel economy.
Im reading on internet that 2.0 dCi is a bit too heavy on consuming fuel πŸ˜€. I'm still for someone with this engine to give me a fuel consumption review 😐.

Btw you had any problem with this engine ?

We have only had the car a couple of months, I am still trying to find if it has a DPF fitted as I have driven older diesels for the last 40 years...we had a Saab 9-5 2.2 TiD (a Vauxhall engine) and I could get 50 mpg out of that on a long run!
