Forgot to say my battery was running low on my key,so the car was not detected my key, I had to press the button a few times for it to find the key. This was the start of the problem low battery key, whilst driving I had a message no key detected whilst doing 70mph on the motorway 😟 but the message went away this is when the ambient temperature in my vehicle started to play up -40 but is now fixed

FIX FIX FIX I have 2017 qashqai tenka and it sarted to read -40c,. I replaced the ambient temperature sensor at a cost of £30.00 form amazon but this did not change anything. So after speaking to my friend who is a nissan technician he said this is a common fault.
Now the fix once the sensor has been changed, Disconnect the battery for a minute or so then reconnect wow it actually worked my car is back to normal, My nissan tec friend has said this is the FIX for most nissan with irregular ambient temperatures.

Behind front bumper. Don't know Part No but as far as I can tell they are a general NTC Thermistor (Temp UP and Resistance DOWN)

Name is - AMBIENT SENSOR

Thanks Calnorth. I did see an explosion of the engine somewhere on a post showing the position, I think it was drivers side of bumper but can’t find it now. I’ve been on loads of car parts sites to search Ambient sensor / outside temp sensor etc for my car but so many come up . Some with cables attached or just a small plug-in device , but none say it’s specific for my car? It’s a nightmare 🤬
Even YouTube vids have all kinds of cars but not 64 plate quashqai.

Doubt you will find one. The diagram below shows the Temp/Resistance graph. Its likely a 20k ohm general purpose NTC working in the Temp range -20C to +40C. Amazon have one but I'm not sure what circuitry interfaces the device within the car...so its a risk if fitted. Nissan it is then...at likely huge cost for not a lot.

Search on Amazon for: sourcingmap 20K NTC Thermistor Probe

The in vehicle sensor appears to be identical

Found it hooray. You can get to it through bottom grill and after searching online for weeks it’s OEM 277223RAOA sensor assy-ambient.

Hi, you mentioned you can get to it through the bottom grill.. can you elaborate? Does this mean you did not need to take the front bumper off... Thanks
