Warranty on the alloys

Just picked my tenka up today on a 62 plate and wondered who has claimed through warranty on the blistered alloys? Read a couple of threads regarding how it happens

Glen, I am not into your UK number system anymore but I am assuming your 62 QQ is a late 2013 J10 Model. If you have Blisters under the Alloy Wheel Paint then it sounds like a manufacturing fault. As you have the Normal Mechanical and Bodywork Guarantees from Nissan I would speak to your Dealer and or contact NCS. Asking costs nothing give it a go ! - Dave ?Y‘?

A 62 is a September 2012-March 2013 registration so between 2£-3 years old
- so get in quick, Glen, before the 3-year warranty expires and they start making excuses! David, as you're always so thorough with your answers here's the meagre bit of info that slipped past you! UK registrations are issued twice a year. In March they simply use the year indicator (eg 15). In September, they add 50 to the year number (65). So a 12 plate is spring 2012, a 59 reg is autumn 2009, etc.

Been in contact with Nissan and a lady popped out and checked alloy and said its a stone chip that has done it. Yes it looks just like that but if a stone chip done this on the body or normal wheels it wouldn't do this. She said I'm probably not covered. What you guys think?

I just thought that was corrosion behind clear coat?

It's what is known in the trade as white worm. When the clear coat gets chipped water passes through and a form of rot sets in, not like rust on steel but looks unsightly and keeps spreading. I have two on my 2014 QQ Tekna Alloys, they are no where near as bad as yours, but will need seeing too next spring no doubt,The clear coat on diamond cut alloys is always susceptible to this but the black paint stands up very well, I am looking at having my wheels powder coated when the tyres need replacing. Sadly, I don't think you will get anywhere with a warranty claim.

Mine were the same 62 reg took it to Nissan and changed all 4wheels no questions asked they took photos and after a week they were fitted!

Glen, good to hear that at least you have taken the "Official" Route and got an answer. Lets hope it gets sorted !. Jon, the "White Worm" description really fits the fault, something else learned - Dave
