Malfunction lights and traction control

Hi,

2012 Qashqai 1.5 Diesel Note+ with 46500 miles on clock. Last night red/orange malfunction lights and traction control lights came on and stay permanently on and solid.

Engine sounds like it's rattling/mis firing a bit when it's ticking over/driving - I've driven about 15 miles in it since.

Is it common to have these lights on -is it a job for a dealer, or local non franchise garage ?

DPF issue or oxygen sensor or even EGR valve problem. Get mechanic to do diagnostics first to determine what it is.
