Hi AllI have a Qashqai 2.0l diesel 2008 ok can someone help here, the 5th to 6th gear change only changes at 80mph, if i am, say doing 65-70 i have to change manually so annoy for fuel consumption, any ideas anyone?ThanksClive

have you changed the auto transmission fluid and filter ..this often fixes these problems ....if the fluid is orange and smells bad that will be it ...

Hi Clive, I have a 2010 2 litre auto, and mine is the same. You really need to be doing around 75mph for it to change up in to 6th gear. I read somewhere, that this is a downside of the gearbox design, and is not actually a "fault" as such. I believe its something to do with the engine not having sufficient guts to pull 6th gear at a lower speed. It does seem ridiculous, as 70mph is the legal speed limit in the UK, but I've just learnt to live with it! Let me know if you find out a way to get round it, other than change in to 6th manually.
