I have just bought a Nissan Qashqai Acenta 1.5dci facelift version 10 plate, when does the timing belt need changing? It's on 84,000 miles, the seller said its 100k or 10 years whichever is sooner, I've got a service report and it states the same on there aswell.
I called my local Nissan they said 6 years or 100k whichever is sooner?

Your help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

I'd do it now, then at least it's done. Cheaper than a new engine. It's usually 72k or 5 years on petrols, so don't know why a diseasel would be different?

Every five years or 75,000 miles is what I've read. So I'd be inclined to take Exjag's advice if there's no sign of a timing belt change in the vehicle's history.
