Hey All,
Just after some advice as to the EGR valves location on my 2011 1.5dci?
Can't obviously see it and I'm sure mine could do with a clean as car hesitates slightly just before the turbo spins up and light throttle.
Is there a guide anywhere for removing/cleaning?
My engine doesn't have a plastic cover and has an alloy pipe running across at an angle.
All help appreciated
1.5dci EGR location/clean
I'm not sure where it is but the easy way to clean it is to get a carbon clean done. Had mine done earlier this year and cost me £75. Very quick, and you really notice the difference. If your in the UK and in the Yorkshire area I can pass on the details of the guy I used. If the erg is accessible he'll take it out and clean it all with the usual treatment
Upgraded from J10 Tekna to J11......let the fun begin!
Wow, so not a very quick fix.
Hound, do you have the relevant diagram for the 1.6 Dci, as all information about maintenance of those engines seems to be almost a state secret... After 105,000 kms., I suspect an EGR clean might be in order.
Thank you.

Many thanks Hound for the reply.
So I need to drain coolant etc. to pull the valve and clean it? I know the car will have an EGR cooler linked to the coolant system but can I somehow remove the valve part without draining it all?
Also, there's a large solid black pipe that's above this and goes down the back of the engine towards the left hand side. The EGR valve is beneath this and I'll need to remove it but not sure what it is or where it connects to??
Hope that makes sense and really appreciate your help

Thanks, Hound, for the 1.6 dCi diagrams, no quick fix there either...
Perhaps best to leave well alone and hope for the best. There is some computer "learning" as per instructions, to be done after disturbing the EGR, so not a spanner and screwdriver job.
