Not sure if I'd want a Kwik Fit fitter accessing my QQ's ECU; at least we know a Nissan dealer will have the correct kit, and if they foul it up, will know how to rectify.
If you buy a non Nissan Stop/ Start battery I'd suggest doing it just prior to your next service at the Dealer- hopefully they'd do then at no extra £cost£.

I assume if an RAC guy replaces under warranty they have ability to recode too.

My car wouldn’t start 1.5 dci tekna, jumped it from another car started first time, wife went out following day started ok, picked up granddaughter from school went to start it and click click click flash flash flash ,wouldn’t start .called Nissan as car is only 15 months old,Rac called out and plugged in ,dead cell on battery,Rac man said Nissan have supplied them with 1000s of new updated batteries to fit to less than three year old Qashqais under warranty.
So don’t buy one out of your own pocket call Nissan
The engineer also clears codes and most importantly tells the ecu it’s had a new battery fitted.
Cheers Nigel

Thanks Nigel. I already bought one and mine is 2013 so I guess not covered by the warranty anymore

Hi. We had the same problem with our 1.6 DCI so got a new start/stop battery but fault still came up so i plugged in our code reader and delete the fault and now its fine. I believe you can buy the code reader for about £10 on ebay!

Hi everyone. I'm new to this.
Having many issues with my 2014 qashqai.
The list is endless. So here goes.
Brought it second-hand from a main dealer. Nissan. June 2017.
Since then the list is growing so here we are.
In the first month the drivers heated seat needed new heat pads.
A new batter was fitted, new glow plugs. Engine management light on.
All sorted under the warranty.
After 6 months it went back for a windscreen rubber issues ( was told it had a new windscreen ) they couldn't help me.
I did say I brought the car from them. But still it's not been sorted.
Rear Dorr rubbers perishing, still not sorted. This is because of the pan roof.
July 2018, air con regas, some thing Kwik fit cannot do as it the new gas apparently.
Now this was done by Halfords auto store.
Aug 2018. Rear sensor has dropped inside the back bumper. Removal of bumper needed.
Warning light for front left tyre. Pumped tyre to correct pressure and re set computer in the car.
4 days later the car dash has lit up like a Christmas tree.
Car has had diagnoses, There are no code errors on the car.

Prob better to get fixed and out the car now.
One of the worst cars I have ever owned.
