headlights flickering whilst driving (and at idle)

got a bit of a strange issue here.
i've started to notice that the headlights on my 2012 qashqai are flickering on and off very quickly when driving (seems to do it when idling too).
its like for half a second at most it flickers.

at first i thought it might be the auto headlight on function that was malfunctioning, but i set the lights to on (rather than auto) and it still did it.
it's very noticeable when driving along an unlit road, you can see the light dip and then come back on again. it's not the sidelights though, it's the main dipped beam. and it seems to be both lights (although it's hard to 100% confirm that) so that would suggest it's not as simply as 1 loose bulb.

so any ideas what this might be?

I noticed that on mine also. I just got two main beam bulbs ( bosch h7 plus 150) and i noticed that they lose their brightness for just a split of a second. I hope it isn't something to worry to much.

yeah it's just a split second, but mine is doing it like every 30 seconds or so.

Yes, every 30 seconds, but not always though.

Use the search function, there is alot on this topic.
It has to do with heater relais.

why would the heater relay affect it whilst driving?
i could understand whilst sitting at idle as it's putting a strain on the battery, but when driving at 50mph the heater relay should have any impact?

It does, on the Dutch forum it is also discussed deeply. Also a real Nissan technician is a member.
But use the search function and you will find.
I did have the same with my previous qashqai and it only happened during cold weather circomstances
But for the rest it is not a problem for the functioning of the car
