Hi,
We purchased a 2011 petrol QQ (50k Miles) last week to keep as a holiday car in Spain. We have had 2 occasions, one in the UK and one in Spain, where the battery appears to have gone totally flat for no apparent reason. On both occasions, the doors of the car had been open for a while (once for about 20 minutes when loading up the car, and second time was after the door had been open for about half an hour). On both occasions we have had to jump-start the car. The car has started perfectly every other time. We are at a loss to know why having the door(s) Open seems to result in a totally flat battery (to the extent that not even the fuel gauge registers the fuel level).

Any suggestions please?!

Well, petrol heads, dont need battery that much as diesel cars but still, if you need to jump start it, than it looks, it's capacity is week.
.you can always check you batterie condition. Leave car off and next day before cranking it up, check Voltage on the battery. If it is below 12V than could be a problem, if it is bellow 10V, than go to the store and by new one..
Remember, life of car battery is usualy around 4-5 years, unless you have a special treatment for it, like extra charging when car is parked....

Assuming it was the cause, not the alternator!
I've got a Lidl battery/ alternator tester to monitor mine.
