Hi
I have a 1.5diesel 2010 model.. at 80mph the engine management light will come on. No loss of performance..
It will go off when ignition turned off..
AA can't determine why it happens.. Local Nissan dealer have no idea..
Can anyone help?.
Thanks

When was the last servicing done and who by. Importantly when was the performance of the exhaust system checked. There are a number of sensors in the exhaust system which can be troublesome as regards what they are sensing. However, if the EML lights up an error code (DTC) should exist that can be scanned for. Did the AA/Nissan scan for such errors?

A good answer appears to be here? P2263 Turbo boost system check engine light for the 1.5Dci engine as fitted to Nissan Qashqai, some Renaults and Dacia.
But thats not your problem where performance is unaffected. However, the two codes should be deleted. Most of the EML error lamp problems we see here are for diesel engines. Not a 80 mph though? The problem is likely related to engine breathing from air/fuel intake through to the exhaust and including the Turbo system. There are a number of sensors involved and a few are in the area of great heat which will be severe at 80 mph. Its possible that such sensor(s) are incorrectly sensing at extreme temperature and causing the EML light to show. On cooling the EML light is later disabled. Its an awkward irritating problem that needs systematic testing through allied sensors and components in the engines breathing path.
There are other faults related...possibly wiring. Commonly EML faults are in the exhaust and turbo systems and generally impact performance badly.
