I've recently become a qasqai owner with an 09 Tekna.
I cant open the rear doors from inside and checking the child lock catches and there both in the unlocked position .Both handles are pointing inwards and there is no resistance on both handles.Am I missing something really obvious.

People have reported this previously following a mechanical failure in the linkage - but it's odd that both your rear doors appear to be affected.

Have a search since it's not something that my car suffered and hence I don't know more details.

I had something similar happen to my front passenger door on my 2009 Mk1. I took the inside door panel off, undid the screws etc in the door frame holding the locking mechanism in place, sprayed liberally everywhere that looked like it might help with WD40 and the problem went away. I had to do that twice in the time I had it. Takes just minutes once u know how to get the door panel off. Suggest you look that process up on YouTube. It's a DIY task, nothing scary to be concerned about.

Hi Dave,

Did you solve this? I had exactly the same issue with my passenger side front door, no tension and the handles pointed in.

Took the panel off and could see that the cable which has a metal ball on the end had snapped the retaining clip on the internal handle itself. Replaced the handle yesterday and good as new.

Hope this helps if you haven't already solved it :)
