Hello, can anyone help please? I have a 2009 1.5dci which has a couple of problems. If I accelerate up a hill for instance, the red engine management light comes on and there is a lack of power as though it may be misfiring.
If I switch off and leave it for a while the light doesn't come back on and it runs fine again.
I have checked the plastic connection to the turbo for cracks with no apparent problems and also cleaned up the egr valve which was not too dirty.
I have tested with a code reader and it says p0381 glow plug circuit but I can't see how that would affect the power.
Any ideas please?
Thanks

Fuel starvation? Fuel/Fuel Filter/Pump defective which starves the engine and very noticeable under large load...uphill..

had similar problem with previous car in cold weather, was using morrisons diesel and apparently they put wax in the diesel which was solidifying in cold weather and causing a blockage and I would lose power, changed to different supplier and had no problems since

Thanks for your replies, I'm going to change the fuel filter to see if it improves, it's done about 20000 miles since the last change,so it's probably well due now.

Hi, I know this post is a few years old but what did it end up being? I bought a 2012 Qashqai+2 1.5dci last week and today while going up a steep hill, I lost power and the red dash light appeared.

Hook a code reader up to car and see what faults you have 1st. Nake a note if them then clear them as you don't know how long they will have been stored for.
