Thank you for posting the pictures, Dave.

What was especially interesting was the photo showing the improvements to the ease of access for rear passengers and also the rear doors opening up to nearly 90°.

My elderly parents/relatives struggle to gain access to the rear seats in my current QQ because of the position of the door pillar and the bottom of the bench seat. This has helped me tremendously!

Thank you again. :)

Sandgrounder, I did go prepared with a List of Questions but unfortunately you need the responsible Nissan Product People there, they were not ! I did push also the question of why the Rear Seat Assembly was not Moveable Back & Forth also for easier access for the or us “Oldies”. You need to be able to enter and leave a vehicle with ease - Dave 🧐

Does this help you ! :

The reason why the Rear Seat Assembly was not Moveable Back & Forth is weight !
I read that it was the intention to keep the weight down and if my memory serves me it seems that making the back seats moveable would have meant + 20 kg and Nissan wanted to claim the weight of the J12 did not increase vs the previous model, regardless adding that Alis battery system and by using aluminium instead of steel and so on.
[However, my *personal* guess is that adding this option in would, in addition, further add cost to the J12 models and maybe few customers would ever miss this feature !??]

Yes, that’s fantastic thanks again Dave. Hopefully I’ll be able to view the new Qashqai soon (car showrooms were allowed to re-open in England from 12th April 2021).

I would imagine the rear seats don’t recline? It was an option on the Pulsar back in the day 🤔

! The J12 Qashqai 2021 can be had with a 10" infotainment system instead of the known smaller 9" ! :o
If you look at the video starting around 7.30' you will see and hear that the Qashqai can get a 10 inch infotainment system !
This is the Tekna+ version, but even that one was supposed to only feature a 9" display.
If you look at the sides of where the infotainment system is mounted you will see in the video that there, indeed, no longer is room
on the sides !

Very strange, since in all documentation and other youtube videos it most definitely was a 9" screen ... exactly the same 9" as the one I saw for myself in the new Tekna+ J12 !
Does anyone here know whether Nissan actually intents to update the 9" display to 10" ?
What do you think ?
IMHO the salesperson made a mistake ... it must be 9" although I fully expect Nissan to put the 2022 10" X-trail infotainment system up there in the Qashqai as well as a ... facelift next year !
Thanks

QaiFan, the Guy on this video did mention a 10” HD Screen now is he right or wrong ?. I have just spent a few hours looking for some confirmation of this and found nothing except the 9” HD Screen see below ! - Dave 😏

I do not think you need a translation, if you know more regarding the 10” Screen then please post it.

OK, thank you Dave (BTW friends of mine live in Germany, so ... translation not really an issue :-))
I am afraid Bob Flavin made a mistake and only ... guessed how big it really was ... it is 10 inch ... but only if you take those *huge* display screen borders into account.
IMHO this 1280x768 'HD' screen resolution, even in cars, is far from high end these days ... but as we have seen this display in-person ourselves ... well it will do the job just fine !
I tried to change the black colors of the infotainment as well as the digital dashboard display's UI yesterday, but there was no way that I could find to do so.
Also, background of the navigation (road-)map on the 12.3 digital display remained black too, no way to change that either.
On the infotainment system though the navigation map can be changed from black to normal with a physical (left side-)button under it.
But still no way to try out Android auto to see whether that mag (Google/Waze) can possibly be shown on the 12.3 inch digital dashboard at all.
