New to this
But here goes
Just had maintainance filter come up on screen
In car
Just wondering what filter it might be
As only had car 3 months and done about two thousand miles
Car was serviced for me when I bought it from nissan dealer so I would have thought all filters would have been changed then
Car is a 2014 1.5 diesel
Any ideas please

could be the fuel filter, i doubt they would have replaced that on the service, i`d have a quick look at the air filter too just to make sure it had been replaced too. the dealers use the JUST BEEN SERVICED as a selling point, as the average person won`t bother to check if things have been replaced or not :x

Thanks for the advice
Andy
Car goes in today gotta leave it with them
But will be asking the question if they have had to change a filter why?
After only 3 month and them saying it was serviced by themselves when I bought it
Thanks again

Welcome to this forum

Please explain what you mean by "maintenance filter"

I don't think there's a warning at all for the air filter.

If it was the oil filter it would say "Oil and Filter"

Or it may be you need to drain water from the fuel filter (not necessarily replace it) - but the manual suggests that's actually a light not a written message.

Hi all, I have the same message on my dash... "Maintenance Filter" with a picture of a filter on it.

I am unable to locate this in the user manual, unless I have missed it?

I do NOT believe it is related to the Particulate Filter, as I do not have a warning light up for that, plus I managed to burn off the soot earlier in the week (or so it seems, as there was a burning sooty smell when doing a motorway drive).

I had the car (J11, Acenta Premium Qashqai, 2014) serviced 8 months ago by Nissan.

Could this be the Air Filter or Oil Filter? If it is the oil filter, why would the message be coming up as It should have been replaced 8 months ago?
Could it be because Nissan did not change the oil filter, or is there a manual reset they should have done for the oil filter at the time of the service?

If anyone can provide an answer, it would be very much appreciated. Thanks, Chris

Are you sure it isn't set by the customer as indicated in the service book, its just a reminder the oil filter was last changed x miles ago.

Hi guys,

I think I have resolved the "Maintenance Filter" message problem.

Looks like the Nissan dealer did not reset the Oil Filter mileage on the computer when they replaced the oil filter during the service. Service was carried out 8 months ago and I've only done about 6,000 miles.

I have decided to reset the mileage for the oil filter.

No warning lights on dashboard, so Its not the Fuel Filter, Its not the Particulate Filter, Its not the Air Filter..... it must be the oil filter mileage reset.

These warnings can be turned off I believe by entering zero mileage into the system, depends whether you want to use it or not, mine has been main dealer serviced and the maintenance warning has not been set by them since new.
