good morning, can i ask for some advice please ? May next year my Qashqai is 3 years old and runs out of warranty, how do i go about purchasing an extended warranty and how much does it cost ? i would like to do this as my car has so many `gadgets` on it and i would like peace of mind if something goes wrong. what is covered by the extended warranty ? do i contact my local dealer or will Nissan contact me direct ?

I tried to get the dealer to give me a quote - then went to Nissan, who referred me back to the dealer.

After one month I managed to get an answer - and the quotes were higher than others mentioned on here.

So I sold the car!

My QQ was approaching 3 years old in September so I purchased the extended warranty from my Nissan dealership when I took my QQ in for a service and first MOT. It cost £297 for the extended Nissan warranty for 12 months.

The service/MOT was carried out in the middle of August but the Nissan extended warranty kicked in from the middle of September, straight after the existing 3 year warranty ended.

The dealership printed out a Nissan Care Warranty Handbook whilst I waited (15 pages).
