I was about to last month for the first time. Fortunately my miles are low and with the present business of plod over acting I'll leave it till next year. I was due a minor service which if pushed I'd do myself. I suspect I'll use a much closer non Nissan garage anyway.

Den, we have had a Micra / Note / Juke / QQ J11A and now the QQ J11B. Most have been 1 year over the 3 Year Guarantee Period but here we seem to get an extra years coverage on each new model we buy.
After an outlay of say €30,000 to €40,000 for a new QQ I would not argue about paying €200 - €400 / year for a Service. We use the same Dealer and I have mentioned this often if you find a Good One then stay with them as you know rhem and they know you. Most Owners regard the Nissan Stamp in the Service Book / Computer important like me - Guarantee & Selling On !

The advantage using a Dealer is the Sales Staff & Service Staff are sent away on Seminars / Training for New Vehicles and this gives me more confidence on the Spare Part Quality used / Trained Technicians / Available Equipment etc.... and with the implementation of more and more Electronics does the Small Garage / Shop have the Equipment / Knowledge / Finance to support this. I must admit I have never considered a Guarantee extension or Private Insurance Cover.
I have nothing against these Guys as many are worth their weight in Gold and I have used them.
Naturally the other Important Point is “Age”, if you are still active then you could always DIY, if not it is a Garage Job Dealer / Private.
Sorry if I got carried away, but it is Sunday 🙏 - Dave 🥴

Checking out:

https://www.nissan.co.uk/ownership/niss ... tance.html
https://www.rac.co.uk/breakdown-cover and
https://www.nissan.co.uk/ownership/niss ... -care.html

... and bearing in mind Nissan servicing has gone up in price a lot over the last few years (a minor petrol service was £149 in 2016 - it's now £239! - the addition of the pollen filter is clearly only part of that.)

The Nissan RAC cover is somewhat basic and seems to fall between the RAC's Standard and Advanced services, so let's take an equivalent cost of midway between which is £12/month or £144/year.

That would make the minor service only £95 - so good value. And staying with Nissan for a car that's so complicated and apt to go wrong is surely a bonus!

However what I don't know is what the situation would be if you are able to renew the Nissan cover direct with the RAC. On my Ignis, when the first year's Suzuki AA cover ran out, I was amazed to find that the AA would renew Suzuki Assistance for only £133 for TWO years - bearing in mind this is top-of-the-range AA cover with Roadside, Home, Relay, Relay Plus and European cover.

The RAC offering is currently for 15 months...12 + 3 months free. I did that using RAC ADVANCED. I included free replacement of keys and battery for about £210/15 months. I'll do minor service locally so that I can avoid PC Plod.
