Can someone advise me how to remove the plastic panel. It seems to need a tool of some type to unlock it. My rear washer is leaking into the tailgate and dripping through the door onto the rear bumper through the 4 drain holes in the bottom of the tailgate....issue caused in frozen weather in december.
Rear washer sounds like its coming on randomly as well.....hoping an alan key or similar is needed but fear its a nissan tool i dont have.
my wifes fed up with the noise so......please help, thanks

where the recess is for the boot closing there is a screw - remove this.
Then there are push type fasteners to prize out and remove.
Lastly , the panel is held to the tailgate with a barb type design.
Quite a lot of force can be required to free them , but its pretty simple and should take no longer than a few minutes.

The upper trim around the glass inside is separate , and interlocks with the panel you are trying to remove.

That random rear washer your talking about is the rear camera washer cleaning the camera itself, it also has compressed air to dry it via a compressor on drivers side rear wheel arch, usually the hose pops of the camera and sprays water everywhere and gets on the boot latch which then starts to corrode the pin and plug to the latch and the the latch itself and the switch to say it's open or closed fails. It usually pops off because the het in the camera is blocked and the pressure has built up and popped the hose off, needs attempting to clean camera jet out if unsuccessful replace camera reattach hose, check for any damage to boot latch connector and camera connector.

I can remember in 2014 trying to convince our Dealer Service Technicians that our Tekna had this Auto Wash System, we ended up checking all QQ Models at that time looking for the water hole.
Lewis, it is nice to have a Trained Nissan Technician who can answer with detail member questions with technical comments. 👍
This is just an example of how complex this Washer System is - Dave 😉

Hi dave, that's exactly the system

Thanks, I try to help out every now and then when I get some free time and I'm bored on my phone haha may aswell use the knowledge somewhere useful.

Some of the faults on here when people are struggling with their dealer I feel bad for, I dont actually own a qashqai myself but I work on them all so quite handy place here for me to share my thoughts and help out where I can.

Lewis, I am also interested in trying to solve problems but when you spend out good money on buying for instance a New QQ with a Guarantee then the Dealer should sort the problems out and correct them.
I could be wrong but I believe that for example Nissan Parts are of similiar designs, Technician Training Covers a lot, Specialist Diagnostic Equipment is available which makes the job easier and quicker to find in most cases. Therefore Higher Service Costs !
I spoke with the Technicians at our Dealers this week and they are all awaiting to get their hands on the New QQ.
I am always preaching if you find a Good Dealer Stay with them ! - Lewis Keep up the good work and advice Dave 😉
